Desert Shores is a private community near the foothills of Las Vegas, with around 3,300+ homes spread across 682 acres and 22 subdivisions.

Since its development in 1988, Desert Shores has remained a beacon for homebuyers searching for private waterfront properties with quick access to amenities.

Is Desert Shores Gated?

Where Is Desert Shores Las Vegas Located?

Desert Shores is in northwest Las Vegas, just east of Sun City Summerlin. South of Desert Shores is The Pueblo and the main Summerlin area.

To the east of Desert Shores is US-95, and to the north is Lone Mountain.

Desert Shores Clubhouse is a welcoming community center where residents can gather for different events.

Able to accommodate up to 100 guests, the Clubhouse is an ideal location for events of all sizes, from intimate family gatherings to larger community celebrations.

Catering is offered (contact Clubhouse to verify availability), as the Clubhouse features a fully-equipped kitchen, complete with a commercial refrigerator, freezer, and ovens.

Desert Shores’ Lagoon Beach Park

Swim Lagoon at Lagoon Beach Park is a place where families can enjoy a refreshing dip in the water, bask in the Nevada sun, and make new friends in a safe and well-maintained environment.

Located right next to the Clubhouse, it serves as a hub for community gatherings, with ample amenities to ensure an enjoyable experience. Whether it’s a casual weekend picnic, a children’s birthday party, or a community event, the Swim Lagoon offers the perfect gathering place.

The swimming pool is quite large and was designed to resemble a tropical lagoon. It comes with sand, palm trees, and perhaps best of all, lots of shaded beach canopies.

Lagoon Beach Park has tons of amenities!

Besides the pool, amenities at Lagoon Park include a playground for toddlers, picnic pavilions, barbeque grills, basketball courts, volleyball courts, kayaks, and paddle boats.

Desert Shores Lakeside Village and Lakeside Event Center

Lakeside Village and Lakeside Event Center are home to three delicious restaurants, a salon and spa, and various event sites.

Here the community hosts different kinds of events, including weddings, dining experiences, business gatherings, and more.

The event center has 6 beautiful lakefront venues to accommodate groups of different sizes. Flowering arrangements and catering are available and can be reserved.

Restaurant Row at Lakeside Village and Lake Suites

For those who’d rather eat at a restaurant, Restaurant Row offers some excellent options. These include Marché Bacchus, Americana Restaurant, and Buena Vista Kitchen.

But let’s also not forget about Village Pub & Casino, The Daily Bread, and Vino Las Vegas Wine Club, which are all part of Lakeside Village.

Want to boat on the water? You can!

Boating is available to residents and invited guests year-round, seven days a week. However, boaters do need to register their vessels with the community association admin office before going on the water.

The administration office is easy to find, as it’s right next to the Clubhouse. If you need help finding the office entrance, inquire with the staff at the Clubhouse.

Can You Swim in Desert Shores?

Swimming in the four lakes is not allowed. Swimming, however, is available at Lagoon Beach Park.
